PROFESSIONAL |
Cathy has worked as a photojournalist for 20 years. Her work has been published in various newspapers and books including; The New York Times, The Independent (London), The Observer (London), Liberation (France), El Periodico (Catalunya), The World Press Master Class (1995) and 10 Women For The Freedom Of Press (Reporter Onze Grenzon, 2002). She studied Documentary Photography at Newport School of Art and Design in Wales. Cathy won the 'Young British Photographer of the Year' in 1994 (The Guild of British Picture Editors) and The Tom Hopkinson Bursary (1993). In 1995 she one of 10 young photographers in the World chosen to participate in the World Press Master Class. |
PERSONAL |
I am from Ireland and I have lived in various places including North America, London, Wales, Paris and the south of France. I now live in Barcelona with my husband and 3 children. I have been focusing on documenting weddings for the past 4 years. I photograph a wedding like any other story. My aim with each wedding is to observe and photograph the real essence of the day. |
